The rules vary between boards, but boards typically accept a continuing education activity that meets the following criteria: “A course or activity whose purpose and objective are clear with a content that will maintain, improve or expand the skills and knowledge of the licensee’s field of practice.”

- Internet courses are accepted that require engineering continuing education provided that the student passes an assessment to successfully complete the course and the assessment is graded.
- Webinars
- Webinars are accepted for CPD hours that require engineering continuing education.
